JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This position is to provide financial and accounting support and management for multiple Home Owner Associations. Financial support and management is defined as maintaining financial and accounting records for multiple HOA’s within the timeshare industry. This position must be able to process journal entries, oversee monthly closings and produce financial reports timely and accurately. A clear understanding of generally accepted accounting principles is necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee preparation of monthly/year end journal entries.
- Prepare and review monthly financials and explain variances
- Provide audit schedules and support timely and accurately
- Assist the Controller with various ad hoc analysis and operational reports for board
- Manage chart of accounts
- Manage balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare financial statements
- Budget preparation
- Provides oversight and direction to Staff Accountants
- Review various monthly schedules prepared by accountants (prepaid maintenance and insurance etc.)
- Manage Accounts Payable
- Additional tasks as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Eight plus years of accounting experience (homeowner associations preferred), including five years of management.
- Dependability and ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Computer knowledge and experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Accounting software including Peachtree and Quickbooks or similar accounting programs
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent administrative skills (i.e., attention to detail, accurate data entry, takes appropriate initiative).
- Good problem-solving skills.
