The Jacksonville Symphony returns to The Peabody with classics from the repertoire: Elgar’s dynamic and tender, Enigma Variations – his musical portrayal of his friends and family, and Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony – describe as “ultimate victory through strife.”

  • The Williamsburg Symphony Presents Bluegrass and Beethoven

    GRAMMY-nominated violinist Tessa Lark returns to Williamsburg to play Torke’s bluegrass-inspired Sky. Bartok’s lively Romanian Folk Dances kick off the program, which closes with Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony – a hymn to nature filled with birdsong, babbling brooks, a thunderstorm, and even a German hoedown.     Local singer/songwriter Bob Patterson, and organizer/activist Carol Kramer, have used Bob’s award-winning song “Lullaby of the Rivers” to create a festival featuring regional musicians, storytellers, and environmental organizations. “Lullaby of the Rivers” is a tribute to Florida’s rivers and their heritage.
